Dear friends and sponsors of ICARUS,

The sale of the current calendar has now been completed. Again a wonderful art calendar was the outcome from our activities around „ICARUS“ (INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN AID RAISED by UNITED SPONSORS).

Thanks to the support and the cooperation of many volunteers, we again succeeded in raising a nice amount for the children’s homes. Even if we have not reached the same number of sold calendars which we did last year, a remarkable number of 2.516 calendars have been sold. With this, a net income of € 30.192,- was realized. This amount plus an additional donation* from World Courier will be given directly to the children’s homes.

We would like to thank all constant and active co-initiators and sponsors who support ICARUS regularly. All these large and small, renowned and lesser-known companies have become an important pillar of the campaign. Without their help, a result like this would never have been achieved.

The planning for the new calendar has already begun. Once again, there will be a drawing competition held together with the kids in each of the children’s homes. TARA OCEANS will be the topic for the next calendar. TARA OCEANS is the name of a three-year expedition with a team of renowned scientists from all over the world who explore the world’s oceans with a state-of-the-art research-sailing ship. The purpose of this mission is to gather new insights into the biotope ocean and especially to understand the impact of the climate change on these biotopes.
